Supporting the leader…

10 January, 2020

• I THINK that Sir Keir Starmer will find it difficult to cast himself as the Labour leader most likely to “unite a divided party” as your correspondent Robert Latham suggests, (Starmer is the best candidate for the new party leader, January 2).

Sir Keir has never complained that despite the overwhelming support of our current, twice-elected, leader by ordinary local members, not a single officer of his Holborn and St Pancras constituency party has an overt, historical record of supporting Jeremy Corbyn.

The constituency’s annual general meeting is to be held later this month which ought to give it the chance of correcting this democratic anomaly.
