Two teen arrested over weekend now charged with murder

TWO teenagers were charged with the murder of a teenager from Islington this morning (Monday).

Alex Smith, 16, was stabbed to death in Munster Square on the Regent’s Park Estate, Camden on August 12 after being chased by a group of people. He was originally from Islington but had moved to Wembley.

Yusuf Yusuf, 19, of Sandwell Crescent, in West Hampstead, was arrested on suspicion of murder on Saturday and Arif Biomy, 19, of Wickham Lane, in Greenwich, was arrested on suspicion of murder at an address on Sunday.

They were both charged with murder this morning and will appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court later today.

A 23-year-old man and an 18-year-old man arrested on suspicion of murder on August 14 have been bailed to return to court in the middle of September.

A 20-year-old man arrested on August 16 has been released on bail to the middle of September.
