Arms race! Peel potters in pool position to take title from Boston

22 March, 2018 — By Steve Barnett

The Sir Robert Peel looking to reclaim the title they last won back in 2016

THERE are just two games to go in Division One of the Chalk Farm Pool League – and which team will end the season holding the Sam Kelly Trophy is anyone’s guess.

Sir Robert Peel are top following their thrilling 5-4 victory over the King’s Cross Assassins on Monday.

The result leaves them three points ahead of defending champions Boston Arms, who chalked up the same winning scoreline in their titanic match against third-placed King’s Cross Hurricanes.

The Hurricanes are now 20 points behind Boston Arms and 23 behind Peel and, although they are not mathematically out of the chase, it seems their race is run.

They will still have a major say on the destination of the title, however, as they face Peel in one of their remaining fixtures.
