ARSENAL Ladies failed to avenge their defeat in the Continental Cup semi-final as they lost yet again to Manchester City on Sunday.
The Citizens got the better of the Gunners at Meadow Park as they ran out 1-0 winners.
The game’s only goal came in the 51st minute when Steph Houghton’s free-kick deflected in off her own team-mate, with Jane Ross claiming the final touch.
Even after seeing City snatch a fortunate win, Arsenal boss Pedro Martinez Losa refused to blame the defeat on bad luck.
“That’s football. For me, luck doesn’t exist,” he said.
“When the opponent scores goals and you don’t, there is probably something that we didn’t do right. We didn’t get the result and we have to improve.
“We are playing at a top level. The difference between the two sides was minimal. We have to think about why the difference is minimal.”
