Two-goal striker Ethan Woolley, right, is challenged by Elite midfielder Silvian Da Almeida
NEWLY-FORMED Bloomsbury Academy netted one of their biggest wins so far on Saturday when they came from behind to beat Camden Elite in the Under-11s division of the Camden Youth League.
Elite have gained a reputation of being one of the best youth clubs around, so when they went 2-0 up at Coram’s Fields supporters would have been forgiven for thinking the points were in the bag.
The battling Bloomsbury players had other ideas, however, as they turned the game around to seal a thrilling 3-2 victory thanks to two goals from hotshot striker Ethan Woolley and a bullet header from Saul de Botton.
Bloomsbury Academy’s director Charlie Hyman said he was delighted with the show of spirit from a side that formed just three months ago. “To beat Camden Elite is a massive achievement in itself, but to come back and win from two goals down at half time shows the incredible fighting spirit of this group,” he said.
