Camden Council must think again on plans to close the Netherwood specialist dementia day centre

18 May, 2017

• THIS is Dementia Awareness Week and I hope that those in Camden Council will use this time to reflect on the human and financial cost of the disease.

I also hope that those making the decision on the fate of Netherwood – Camden’s only specialist dementia day centre – will stop, think again and scrap plans to close it.

An investigation by the Alzheimer’s Society has found that it would take the average person 125 years to save for their dementia social care bill. Generations coming through without the boost of property ownership are totally unprepared for that.
