Limited edition strip available to buy at Camden Brewery bar

22 March, 2019

FOOTBALLERS are to take to the field with an eye-catching new kit, pictured left, celebrating famous women with connections to Camden.

The new strip for Camden Town FC, who play in the Greater London Women’s Football League, uses pictures of writers Sylvia Plath and Buchi Emecheta, sculptor Dame Barbara Hepworth and the suffragist Dame Millicent Garrett Fawcett.

Team sponsors Camden Town Brewery, based under railway arches in Kentish Town, are now selling a limited edition run of the kit with all proceeds going to The Fawcett Society.

Pranay Dhanani, Camden Town Football Club’s manager, said: “After months of planning, the team were overcome with emotion and excitement when they tried on the new kit for the first time. As not only a grassroots team, but a female grassroots team, we have limited funding.”

She added: “We’re incredibly grateful to our neighbours, Camden Town Brewery, for designing this Women of Camden kit and will be sure to make them proud when the team kick off next season in the bold, inspirational kit.”
