Consultation, what consultation?

10 January, 2020

• ONE year ago a very significant traffic consultation which would affect all of Kentish Town’s residents was just about to close on January 23 2019. It was billed as “proposed improvements to Prince of Wales Road / Kentish Town Road junction… and at Anglers’ Lane”.

It contained highly dubious elements such as removing the pedestrian crossing outside Lidl, permitting vehicles to turn northwards from Prince of Wales Road and making the north end of Anglers’ Lane only accessible to bicyclists, who would have to sit in the middle of Kentish Town Road southbound and then confront the difficult junction with Prince of Wales Road by the baths.

What has become of this complex formal scheme you may ask? Well residents have had no feedback whatsoever in the intervening one year. No communications from our six councillors or within the expensive Camden Magazine. Is Camden’s consultation process fit for purpose?
