Coronavirus: Fight the virus by ‘keeping fit in Primrose Hill and Regent’s Park’

Parks can still be used for relaxation and exercise but 'social distancing' is advised

17 March, 2020 — By Tom Foot

Primrose Hill is still open

PARKS chiefs are today (Tuesday) continuing to urge people to continue exercising in Primrose Hill and Regent’s.

Staying fit and health could be crucial in fending off the coronavirus, said Tom Jarvis, director of parks at the Royal Parks.

He said: “We encourage people to come to the parks to boost their physical and mental wellbeing at this time. Staying fit and well is particularly important at the moment.

“The Royal Parks remain open to visitors so they can continue to enjoy spending time in nature and for relaxation and recreation, but would encourage social distancing to prevent the disease spreading.”

He added: “We’re closely monitoring Government advice on COVID-19 and we’re following the guidance of Public Health England. We’re taking all appropriate measures to keep our visitors safe and healthy during this time.”

Toilets are open and free of charge at least until the end of March.
