Coronavirus: Weekly update from Camden Council leader Georgia Gould

PUBLIC INFORMATION PAGES FROM CAMDEN COUNCIL

20 August, 2020 — By Cllr Georgia Gould

PUBLIC INFORMATION PAGES FROM CAMDEN COUNCIL

I am pleased that most students should now get the A-level and GCSE grades they deserve.

Although schools in Camden have not seen as many A-level results downgraded as many other areas, it has still been an incredibly stressful time foryoung people and their families.

As students receive their GCSE results today (Thursday 20 August), we will continue to offer support and keep a close eye on whether the system is producing fair results.

We are also supporting schools to ensure that students get the best possible advice to make crucial decisions about

their futures. You can read about that support below. I want to congratulate Camden’s young people on their success and their resilience, and to say a huge thank you to Camden’s teachers, headteachers andschool support staff for all of their hard work.

Lastly, while rates of coronavirus remain low across Camden, there has been a small increase in cases over the past three weeks. It’s really important that everyone continues to follow Public Health advice to prevent the spread of the virus and, if you do develop symptoms, to self-isolate and get tested.

Don’t forget that we can provide support for you to self-isolate if you need it – more details can be found on the right-hand page.

Thank you for all you’re doing to keep Camden safe.

Councillor Georgia Gould, Leader of Camden Council
