Dolphin dig deep for win against rivals

The Dolphin team celebrate their victory

THE Dolphin did their hopes of avoiding the wooden spoon in Division Three of the Chalk Farm Pool League the world of good on Monday night when they beat rivals The Floirin at their home table in King’s Cross.

Vice-captain Luke Kelly got his team off to a great start when he won the opening frame of the night against John Greenwood. The stand-in skipper combined well with team-mate Oliver O’Shea to also win in the doubles against Greenwood and Dennis Clarke.

With the pressure on to try and pull away from The Oak at the bottom of the table, The Dolphin dug deep to pocket an entertaining 5-4 victory.

The result leaves them 12 points ahead of league strugglers The Oak, who were resoundingly beaten 7-2 by the Green Man.

“We want to dedicate the win to our captain Danny Coleman, who was unable to take to the table for us tonight,” said Luke.
