Ajay Gohil won both his singles and doubles frames to keep King’s Cross Hurricanes in top spot

ENGLAND international Ajay Gohil helped ensure that the King’s Cross Hurricanes kept hold of top spot in Division One of the Chalk Farm Pool League on Monday.

The premier potter, who will represent his country at the Nations Cup in Cyprus next month, won his singles and doubles frames as the Hurricanes continued their 100 per cent start to the season with a thrilling 5-4 victory over title rivals Boston Arms.

League chairman Shaun Pollard said Gohil’s performance summed up everything that is right within the weekly competition.

He added: “Our league is packed with some of the very best talent in the country. We have players who regularly represent their counties and their countries, and that’s ramping up the standard we’re seeing at club level and making the league one of the toughest competitions in town.”
