Fashion Tips for Your Summer Holiday this Year

04 July, 2019

Are you a last-minute packer? Do you like to travel light? Would it be better if you didn’t have to worry about packing at all? If any or all of these apply to you when it comes to packing for your summer holidays the good news is that it doesn’t have to be so painful. Whatever your destination, and for however long you’re staying there for here are just a handful of essentials you need. The following list of fashion items should stand you in good stead whether you’re planning to spend a week lying on the beach, sightseeing a European city or enjoying a walking holiday in the hills.

• The Classic White T-shirt

This has to be the classic wardrobe staple, so you’ve got to pack it, whether you’re planning holidays in the Balearic Islands, Florida, Greece or some other sunny location. It can be worn with pretty much anything, and you can jazz it up for all those special occasions with the right choice of accessories. If you’re worried about keeping it clean, then choose another neutral colour.

• A Statement Dress

A flattering dress can be worn when out exploring the city or dining with friends. It’s such a versatile fashion item because its look can be transformed simply by changing your footwear. If you’re going out for the evening wear it with strappy sandals. Trainers might be more appropriate for day time.

• A Flowy Blouse

Boho tops are very popular for summer holidays, and they come in a wide variety of styles, colours, and sizes. Choose to wear it with a skirt or trousers.

• Comfortable Pair of Trousers Everyone’s got a pair of jeans in their wardrobe, but for your summer holidays this year they really won’t do. They’re far too heavy and restricting for a scorching hot summer day. Take your summer holidays as an opportunity to try something different and check out the range of wide-leg trousers available in your local fashion outlet.

• A Versatile Skirt

Pair this with your t-shirt, and it becomes a very versatile outfit to take with you on holiday. Choose one in a soft material and opt for the midi skirt as you won’t find it too restrictive or have to worry about bending over. A midi skirt works equally well for those dreamy walks along the beach, going out to dinner or walking around town.

• Comfortable Pair of Shoes/Sandals

Your choice of footwear really depends on what you’re planning to do. If walking is going to feature at the top of your agenda, then a comfortable pair of walking shoes or trainers is going to be preferable to a pair of sandals. Comfortable doesn’t have to mean boring because there are some stylish leather sandals you would happily wear all day long.

• A Cover-Up

For the cooler evenings and when the sun spends the day hiding behind a cloud a lightweight, long cover-up is essential. You’ll be able to throw it over the simplest of outfits and still feel quite glam.

• Summer Hat

Include a summer hat in your holiday wardrobe because it serves a couple of purposes. Not only does it make you look glamorous it also protects you from the harmful rays of the sun. A straw hat would be the obvious choice, in whatever style you fancy. Don’t try squeezing it into your suitcase. If it’s not broken or bent out of shape, you’ll be very lucky.
