For local help see

• THE coming weeks and months are going to be extremely difficult for many in our society.

It will not be easy to make sure everyone gets the food and supplies they need. Isolation and loneliness will be a big problem for those living alone, especially the elderly.

So thank goodness we have such an amazing local community which is already gearing up to help those in need get through this crisis.

Groups of volunteers are forming in all parts of Hampstead and Kilburn to do everything from delivering shopping and medicines to phoning the socially isolated.

Charities like Age UK Camden and Elders Voice in Brent are ramping up their operations to do the same. And it’s good to see Sadiq Khan and councils booking up hotel rooms to provide shelter for the homeless who need to self-isolate.

I’m getting so many emails from constituents who are worried about coronavirus and how they will get support. I will do everything I can to help them and raise their concerns with ministers.

But there was clearly a need to bring together all the latest advice and support available for local people and businesses in one place, so I’ve set up the community website

We’ve had so much positive feedback about the site, which has had around 5,000 views since it launched on Friday.

I hope it will become a forum for the whole community to support each other through this crisis. Let’s get through this together.
