Gang of ‘professional burglars’ jailed after raiding ten homes across Camden

They hit homes in Hampstead, Camden Town, Primrose Hill and Belsize Park in seven-month spree

A GANG of prolific burglars who targeted homes across Camden to support their “lavish lifestyle” have been jailed for a total of 23 years.

The four men, three of whom lived in Camden, worked together to raid more than a dozen homes and steal hundreds of thousands of pounds in cash, jewellery and electrical equipment.

The group targeted wealthy homes and made off with designer clothes and watches, police said.
In a seven-month crime spree, they hit ten homes in Hampstead, Camden Town, Primrose Hill and Belsize Park.

Police said that one house in Haverstock Hill was broken into twice in two days, with the gang making off with £89,000 worth of designer clothing and electrical items while the owners were on holiday.

In one attack in Ealing the men pinned down a woman as she putting her two young children to bed, was pinned to the floor while others raided the home for jewellery.

Daniel Hill, left, and Beau Abououf have both been jailed

The group were caught after police responded to a burglar alarm at a home in Primrose Hill in March last year.  Stephen Kelly was found by police in the garden of a neighbouring home, while Danny Logan was arrested nearby.

The pair had caused an estimated £15,000 worth of damage to the property after they broke in and stole a steel safe, which was found abandoned in the garden, police said.

Police then trawled through their phones and, along with pictures of them flaunting the stolen designer goods, found evidence linking them to Daniel Hill and Beau Abououf.

All four were charged last summer after a “long-running investigation,” Scotland Yard said.

Three of the men were sentenced at Harrow Crown Court on Thursday.

Beau Abououf, 27, of Varndell Street, Regents Park, was sentenced to a total of eight years imprisonment.

Stephen Kelly, 22, of Lymington Road, West Hampstead, was sentenced to six years’ imprisonment.

Danny Logan, 21, of Raglan Street, Kentish Town, was sentenced to six years’ imprisonment.

At the same court on Thursday, 25 May, Daniel Hill, 22, of no fixed address, was sentenced to three years’ imprisonment.

Detective Inspector James Hale, of the Met’s Trident and Area Command, said: “These men were all professional burglars who committed crime in a highly organised manner to support a lavish lifestyle. They have shown a complete disregard for the victims of their crimes, many of whom have suffered severe financial and psychological damage.

“In most of the burglaries, the men targeted properties where they believed the homeowner was away, but, in one terrifying robbery, Abououf, Kelly and Logan stole jewellery from a house in Ealing after pinning a mother to the bed in front of her young child, who is still suffering psychological trauma more than a year later. I would like to pay tribute to this woman for her bravery in giving evidence in court during the trial.

“We believe there may still be other individuals linked to this group who may have been involved in the conspiracy. I would urge anyone with any information about these men to call police on 101 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.”
