Give cyclists more bike hangars

17 September, 2020

• THE Camden Council Cycling Action Plan commits to promoting cycling in Camden.

Since its publication, Covid-19 has prompted more residents to become cyclists. But cycle storage is an acute problem in some parts of the borough given the rates of cycle theft.

Many people are not allowed to store bikes in their flats and have to resort to leaving them in the street overnight. All areas need bike hangars but some do not have them.

There are no hangars on Haverstock Hill or any spaces in bike hangars nearby, while elsewhere in the borough the existing bike hangars are hardly used.

If the council wants to promote a green and safe borough, why don’t they ensure that everyone has access to a bike hangar?
