GPs are redundant now

‘Didn’t GPs go into medicine to help and heal their patients?’
• MANY north London GPs have been hiding throughout the pandemic. Didn’t they go into medicine to help and heal their patients?
Most practices have had telephone appointments only – and I had to wait two weeks for one.
Patients who have telephoned with emergencies – such as septic wounds – have not been offered antibiotics but told to go to the nearest hospital, who are surprised that they have not been dealt with by their doctor.
Surely the health service needs reorganisation now that GPs are redundant.
Hospitals and health centres are surely the way forward, where all NHS practitioners are in the front line, not just those working in hospitals?
