HALSEY sparked a mad dash for tickets after announcing she will play a Camden Town music venue tonight (Monday).

The indie pop singer has the pulling power to sell out arenas but has opted to take to the stage at the famous Electric Ballroom in Camden High Street. There were reports that the most eager fans had arrived on Sunday to be first inside the venue later.

The Electric Ballroom is one of the nightspots which put Camden Town on the rock n roll map and, while its capacity is set at 1,500 people, star names like Prince and Sir Paul McCartney have in the past chosen it for tour warm up gigs and special one-offs. Tickets for the Halsey gig sold out within minutes last week. Fans who missed out have been pleading for spares on social media.

Halsey, 24, sang on The Chainsmokers’ hit Closer but has two his albums of her own and hit the top of the charts with the song Without You last year. She is now promoting new single, Nightmare.

She tweeted on Sunday: “As if I’m playing a 1500 cap show in f***ing Camden tomorrow. I’m excited.”
