Hampstead Garden Opera brings a delightfully confused Secret Marriage to Jackson’s Lane Theatre

Cimarosa’s opera comes to Archway

Hampstead Garden Opera is putting on Domenico Cimarosa’s 1792 masterpiece The Secret Marriage as its autumn production at Jackson’s Lane Theatre in Archway.

The opening performance is on Friday November 16 and there are nine more performances until Sunday November 25.

“What a treat to bring Cimarosa’s sparkling, effervescent opera to life,” says director Sinead O’Neill. It was an immediate hit in 1792 – and it’s easy to see why. It’s light-hearted, touching and charming.

“The proceedings are fast-paced and there are well-drawn characters, tangled love affairs, confusion and misunderstandings.”

Evenings at 7.30pm on November 16, 17, and 20-24; Matinées at 4pm on Sundays November 17 and 25; Matinée at 2.30pm on Saturday November 24. Tickets: 0800 411 8881,
All seats unreserved so please arrive 20-30 minutes before the performance to guarantee seats.
