Hampstead top of table after victory

25 May, 2018

HALF-CENTURY knocks for Sam Evison and Matthew Watson helped Hampstead continue their impressive start to the season in the Premier Division of the Middlesex County Cricket League on Saturday.

Evison hit 62 off 76 balls, including five fours and a six, while Watson smashed six fours on his way to a score of 52 as Liam Hughes’s side recorded 306-8 from 50 overs in their testing match at Brondesbury. Hampstead then skittled the home side out for 115 to seal a resounding 191-run victory.

The result leaves Hampstead as one of three clubs with 21 points, along with Richmond and Finchley, after three games.

Elsewhere in the top flight, Highgate beat North Middlesex by two wickets in a high-scoring game at Shepherd’s Cot.
