POLICE have removed a cache of weapons and drugs from the streets of Camden in the past week including a handgun and four large hunting knives.
A revolver was found along with 13 rounds of ammunition in a unlocked vehicle in Robert Street in the Regent’s Park estate. Officers also found a stash of cocaine. One man has been arrested in relation to firearm.
Officers carried out a “weapons sweep” – searching in bushes and stairways – around NW5 on Monday and seized three hunting knives.
Police urged the public to contact them if they know of someone carrying a knife and “save a life”.
Earlier on Monday, officers from the Camden Town and Primrose Hill neighbourhood team raided a flat in the Clarence Way Estate in response to a “rise in anti-social behaviour and drug dealing”.
They used an angle grinder to cut off a metal gate protecting the front door and stormed into the property. Three men were arrested for possession with intent to supply and around 150 bags of cannabis were seized along with another hunting knife.
