HAVERSTOCK bagged the bragging rights over neighbouring rivals Highbury Grove on Monday when they ran out comfortable winners in the opening round of the Camden and Islington District Cup at Market Road.
The Under-15s side from the secondary school in Chalk Farm took the lead within minutes of the kick-off when fox in the box Dion Sfarca headed home from a corner. Man-of-the-match Troy Perez-Duah doubled Haverstock’s advantage in style when he powered home a long-range free-kick to make it 2-0 at the break.
It was one-way traffic in the second half with Isaiah Works adding a third before Perez-Duah bettered his efforts from the first half by scoring yet another long-range free-kick, this time finding the back of the net from near the halfway line.
Defenders Adeyemi Adewale and Lukas Zaicevas were also both on target as Haverstock netted a resounding 6-1 victory.
