Heating the hospital…
25 November, 2021
• I HAVE had one major operation in, and been to several treatment sessions at, the Royal Free Hospital over the past 15 years, as well as having visited patients there. And I always found it well heated.
I presume the boilers there are served by gas, and now that the government is intent on having those replaced, I wonder what the cost will be (in money and in installation time) not just to the Royal Free Hospital but also to many large public institutions, to have their appliances replaced with electric ones, heat pumps or other methods approved in the new green era.
Perhaps some way may be found to “capture” and store the carbon dioxide given off by existing hardware.
