Historic pub in Hampstead is put up on market
Old White Bear has been closed for six years

A PUB in Hampstead which has been closed for six years despite a spirited neighbourhood campaign to see it reopen is on the market.
The Old White Bear in New End has been at the centre of a long-running planning dispute while its upstairs floor was used as a classroom for pupils at the multi-site Heathside Prep School.
The private school’s managers had been under pressure to follow through with an agreement to get a pub operator back in on the ground floor.
Publican Dan Brod had been ready to move in and drew up plans for the bar but was kept waiting.
Marketing material for the pub says it is already “under offer”. Although the building has changed, a pub has been on the site for 300 years and it is listed as an “asset of community value”.
