A 31-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murdering a young barmaid who was found dead in Finsbury Park.

Juliana Tudos, 22, who worked at the World’s End in Camden Town, went missing on Christmas Eve.

She was found in a disused building in the park, just a few hundred metres from her home in Upper Tollington Park on December 27. She had been stabbed in the stomach and sustained a blow to the head.

Police said that suspect was detained this afternoon at an address in Dalston and is now being questioned by murder detectives.

Detective Chief Superintendent Des Fahy said that extra officers were on patrol to reassure residents.

He said: “We understand that the local community might have concerns, but I want to reassure people that incidents of this nature are incredibly rare.

“We have police out and about on patrol and local Neighbourhood Policing Teams have been out speaking to members of the community.

“By all accounts, Iuliana was a bubbly lively girl enjoying a fun life in London when she was tragically taken from her loved ones. Our hearts go out to them. “
