THE Duchess of Cambridge met schoolchildren at the Sayers Croft Forest School and wildlife garden in Paddington on Tuesday.

Kate Middleton was greeted by pupils at St Augustine’s Church of England Primary School and walked through Paddington Rec.

She was given a cuddle by Anwaar, aged four, from St Stephen’s Church of England School in Westbourne Park. It was the duchess’s first public appearance since returning from maternity leave.

The Wildlife Garden was created by Westminster Council and Ruth Willmott Associates and includes an edible garden and a forest garden.

Lord Mayor of Westminster, Councillor Lindsey Hall, who welcomed the duchess on behalf of the council, said: “Sayers Croft Forest School and wildlife garden is one of Westminster ’s great places for learning and play, and a centre of excellence in improving children’s emotional and physical wellbeing. We were proud to welcome HRH The Duchess of Cambridge.”
