A VAN hire firm has donated the use of one of its vehicles so the New Journal can help voluntary groups with aid deliveries during the coronavirus lockdown.

The family-run H & H in Bartholomew Road, Kentish Town, handed over the keys on a transit van this morning (Tuesday). The New Journal has been helping connect people and businesses ready to donate food, but who are unsure how to reach those in need.

Owner Rickie Hicks, whose father Gary set up the well known hire firm in 1999,  said: “We are just so pleased to be able to offer some help to the people of Kentish Town. They are our friends and neighbours as well customers. It’s a pleasure we can co-operate with the New Journal and feel we can do something positive.”

Mr Hicks added: “We have some vehicles out on the road helping to do vital deliveries.”
