FREE parking for key workers in Camden will end on July 30, the Town Hall has confirmed.
In an email sent to permit holders last week, the council said the help for NHS staff and other front-line workers would end, after the government wound up a national scheme earlier this month.
It has handed out 9,000 free parking permits during the pandemic.
Camden’s head of parking Peter Mardell added that the decision had also been taken in light of the national vaccination programme running to schedule.
Camden’s environment chief Cllr Adam Harrison said: “We are one of the last boroughs in London to withdraw from this scheme – one month after the government proposes the scheme ends to allow teachers to complete the school year.”
