ARSENAL boasted four different goalscorers on Sunday as they recorded a routine 4-0 win away at Brighton to move three points clear at the top of the Women’s Super League.
Danielle van de Donk fired the Gunners ahead within minutes, before Jill Roord doubled the advantage just after the half-hour mark.
Second-half strikes from Jordan Nobbs and Beth Mead completed the rout to send Joe Montemurro’s side into this Sunday’s home match against title rivals Chelsea brimming with confidence.
“The main thing about the win over Brighton is that we got the goals we needed, and then controlled the game, which allows us to rest and be ready for Chelsea,” said Montemurro.
Chelsea, who sit third in the table, four points behind Arsenal but with a game in hand, will also go into the game at Meadow Park buzzing after beating Bristol City 6-1 on Sunday.
