Leading from the front to win award

24 March, 2017 — By John Gulliver

The award is presented by deputy mayor Richard Cotton to Fork deli manager James Harper

RESIDENTS in the Marchmont Street area of Bloomsbury seem to lead the way!

The other day they held a ceremony awarding the Best Shop Front of the year to the popular Fork deli at No 85 Marchmont Street for its “sensitive” restoration of the original Edwardian frontage.

Behind the award is Ricci de Freitas, a former Camden councillor, who chairs the Marchmont Association and is better known as the man who organises plaques on houses where poets, writers, architects and politicians once lived. This should be done in other parts of the borough.
