Library closed by flooding

20 July, 2017

A POPULAR library has been shut for five days because of flooding. Camden Town Library was closed on Saturday when pipes burst at Crowndale Centre, in Eversholt Street. Books and DVDs had to be stashed in crates.

The floor of what the council describes as a “bustling, medium-sized library” appeared to have been extensively damaged, pictured. The Town Hall said last night (Wednesday) that the library would remain closed until further notice but that its “contractors are working as quickly as possible to restore the library to a safe and clean environment”. The nearest alternatives are Kentish Town Library, in Kentish Town Road, and St Pancras Library, in Pancras Square.
