Model Casey Batchelor braves winter waters at Parliament Hill Lido in hospice fund-raiser

Swimmers raised £6,000 for Haven House children's hospice

14 February, 2017 — By Emily Muddle

CELEBRITY Big Brother contestant Casey Batchelor braved the 4°C temperatures at the Parliament Hill Lido to raise funds for a children’s hospice.

The model swam 27 metres as part of a ‘Chilly Dip’ challenge on Sunday. She was one of 29 participants who raised over £6,000 for the Haven House children’s hospice in Woodford Green, east London, by braving the water.

“I’m so glad I did it. I was buzzing afterwards,” she said. “There was such a great team spirit and it’s brilliant to see so many people coming together to support Haven House on a Sunday. Haven House is such an amazing charity which does incredible work for life-limited children and their families. I really hope more people can support it.”

Over 650 children, young people and babies have received care from Haven House since it opened in 2003. The hospice also provides respite for families by organising short breaks and end-of-life care.
