Murder investigation launched after Finsbury Park stabbing

Police say 20-year-old was pronounced dead in Roth Walk

DETECTIVES have launched a murder investigation following a stabbing in Finsbury Park.

Police were called by paramedics at around 3am this morning (Saturday) after responding to reports of a stabbing on Seven Sisters Road. A 20-year-old man who was found with stab wounds in nearby Roth Walk was pronounced dead at the scene.

Another man, 21, was treated in hospital for knife injuries. After being discharged, he was arrested on suspicion of murder, possession of an offensive weapon and affray. He remains in custody.

Police believe both men had been involved in an altercation involving a number of other people in the area of Roth Walk prior to the emergency services being called. Enquiries into the circumstances continue, officers said.
