WORK on a facelift for a bustling Holloway market is due to start this year after the Town Hall approved designs.

The manager of Nag’s Head Market, Manpreet Singh, said he was looking forward to the changes.

The revamp will see all hanging signs removed from outside walls and a new deep green timber facade put in place over the current brickwork.

The name of the market in Seven Sisters Road will be lit up at the front of the building and a new glass sliding door will welcome visitors.

“The new design will be more inviting. It will make a positive impact on the local area,” said Mr Singh.

He added that it would be business as usual for traders during the work as there will be no internal structural changes.

New office spaces on the second floor will be opened up to start-up businesses.

“We’ve already got a range of people lined up for the space – fashion companies and advertisement companies,” said Mr Singh.

Traders would not have to pay more for their pitches after the revamp, he added.
