Our libraries should be open

07 August, 2020

• IT is astonishing that libraries in Islington are still not open and only one is due to open next week, at reduced hours, at Fieldway Crescent N5.

This is totally unacceptable considering they have been allowed to open since July 4.

Nearly every other outlet has opened up on the first day that they could putting in temporary social distancing measures; places like charity shops and other non-essential retail outlets.

The council is showing a complete disregard for the needs of its residents who, in many cases, like myself have been without access to computers since March.

I had fully expected libraries to open up again on the first day they could. If people can safely use supermarkets they can most certainly use libraries when you consider the numbers using them are at any given time much smaller.
