Our staff are passionate about the wellbeing of young people at risk

• PLEASE pass on my sincere appreciation to William McLennan for the excellent, well-informed, and balanced article about St Mary’s youth work with local young people who may be involved in gangs and knife crime, (Knife crime and the fatal gap in provision, May 31).
I am very grateful that his reporting will increase local knowledge of our often overlooked mentoring of these vulnerable young adults. Continuity of care and consistency of approach are key issues in this vital work.
Our staff members are passionate about the wellbeing of young people at risk. Very modest financial support for this underfunded local project pays huge dividends towards the safety of the whole community.
