Alistair McWilliams is wanted in connection to multiple offences
Police investigating a collision that left a 77-year-old man with a severe head injury have launched a manhunt for a suspect.
Officers believe that Alistair McWilliams is being sheltered by a friend or relative.
The 32-year-old is wanted on suspicion of a string of offences related to a crash in Leighton Road, Kentish Town last month.
A Nissan Primera, which is suspected to have been stolen, careered off the road and hit a pedestrian, before smashing through three garden walls near the junction with Leverton Street at around 2:30am on August 23.
The victim remains in hospital in a critical condition.
The occupants of the car fled the scene.
Detective Sergeant Cheryl Frost said: “We want to hear from anyone who might have dash-cam footage of the build up to this collision, as well as anyone who knows the location of Alistair McWilliams.
“We believe McWilliams is still in the local area with a friend or relative harbouring him from police.
“If you know where he is currently or if you have seen him in the past few days please call police immediately.”
Mr McWilliams is wanted on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving, aggravated taking and driving away and failing to stop at the scene of a collision.
Three teenage girls, aged 14, 16 and 17, were arrested a short time later. They have been released under investigation.
