Police release footage in Camden Town shooting probe

Damage in window consistent with a shotgun

25 July, 2019 — By Samantha Booth

POLICE investigating a shooting in Camden Town last month have released CCTV of the incident.

Officers were called shortly before 1.30am on Monday, June 17 to report of shots fired on Camden High Street at the junction of Buck Street.

No one was reported as injured but a nearby window was found to have damage consistent with a shotgun.

It was reported three suspects got out of a blue BMW 1 series and fired shots towards a grey Mercedes C class.

In the footage, a man can be seen getting into the Mercedes, which was a hire car with registration KW68 NSY, as it pulls away.

It is thought the Mercedes then turned left out of Buck Street, into Camden High Street where it drove the wrong direction before turning into Inverness Street.

The BMW continued north along Camden High Street and was last seen in Grafton Road.

Detective Constable Michael Clinch, who is investigating the incident, said: “Whilst we have yet to trace a victim in this case, we are determined to get the individuals involved in this incident off our streets, as well as finding the firearm which was used.

“Anyone who saw anything suspicious in the early hours of June 17 or believes they may have information which could help our investigation is urged to call us on 0208 201 2713.”

Anyone with information is asked to call 101 with reference CAD 439/17 June or anonymously through Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
