Town Hall team to review ‘no ball games’ signs
12 October, 2018
THE Town Hall has set up a dedicated team to review “no ball games” policies on council estates in Islington.
As the Tribune reported this year, it formed one of the recommendations of the Fair Futures Commission – paid for by the council to analyse how young people feel about living in the borough.
The team will work with estate residents to review signs, in a bid to make youngsters feel more welcome and encourage exercise. Housing associations will be urged to do the same.
Cllr Joe Calouri, executive member for children, young people and families, said: “The point of this whole process was to make changes that put children and young people at the very centre of local public services, and the commitments we have outlined will make a real difference to young people for generations to come.”
