Ricky Gervais meets the dogs from Paws2Rescue

A CHARITY took rescued dogs to Hampstead Heath for a runaround.

Author Jane Fallon and her partner, The Office and After Life star Ricky Gervais, were among the guests at the meet-up for Paws2Rescue on Saturday.

Trustee Alison Standbridge said: “Whilst the majority of Paws2Rescue’s charity work is in Romania and overseas, helping animals who have been abused, neglected and abandoned, a small part of our work is closer to home.”

She added: “We are lucky enough to re-home a small number of our rescue dogs from overseas into UK family homes. Throughout the summer, we arrange meet-ups in parks up and down the country, and last week it was our Hampstead meet-up.

“It was amazing to watch so many rescued dogs who have suffered horrific past lives, being able to run free and play amongst themselves, running on the beautiful Heath with not a care in the world.”

Ms Fallon and Mr Gervais, who live in Hampstead, are patrons of the charity.

“Taking time out from their busy lives, it was great to spend time with such down-to-earth people, sharing our passion for dogs,” said Ms Standbridge.
