A YOUNG man stabbed to death in Camden Town has been named locally.
The 25-year-old, named as Assad and known as ‘Nutz’ to friends, died after being stabbed in Camden High Street on Thursday night shortly after 11pm.
Flowers and candles have been placed in memory of Assad where the police cordon was on Friday.
A friend, who wished not to be named, said she knew him from Camden Town.
“He was such a funny character, always the joker and always doing something silly,” she said. “He’ll be missed and the community is in so much pain from all its losing really.”
His death was the third killing in Camden in five days last week.
A fundraising page has been set up in Assad’s memory to donate money for charity.
The page founder, a sibling of Assad, said: “It’s hard enough losing him, but to know that we did not do anything to help our brother would be far greater pain to endure.”
Police have asked anyone with dash cam footage on Thursday night to send it to them. No arrests have yet been made.
Anyone with information is asked to call police via 101 quoting reference Cad 8865/12Sep. Alternatively you can call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
