Royal Institute of Oil Painters Annual Exhibition at Mall Galleries

21 November, 2019

Adebanji Alade: Reflections, Shadows and Colours, St Pauls, Oil 30 x 40cm

The Royal Institute of Oil Painters Annual Exhibition at Mall Galleries gives visitors the opportunity to see the many and varied ways in which artists use oil paint today, from a traditional approach to this highly technical medium through to more innovative uses of material, style and content.

There will also be “an exhibition within an exhibition”, a mini show on the theme of “London”. This theme will be interpreted in a variety of ways by both members of the Institute and artists selected from the open call.

The Royal Institute of Oil Painters Annual Exhibition has a well-earned reputation for attracting highly exciting young exhibitors, alongside the much-admired, more established member artists. Offering valuable prizes such as The Phyllis Roberts Award (worth £2,000) and The Winsor & Newton Young Artist Awards, the ROI continues to lay the foundations for future generations to enjoy and achieve artistic expression with this most adaptable and durable medium.

• Royal Institute of Oil Painters Annual Exhibition runs from November 28 to December 9 at Mall Galleries, The Mall, SW1. Open 10am-5pm (until 1pm on final day). Admission £4, free to under-25s. 020 7930 6844, www.mallgalleries.org.uk
