Saxophonist Allison Neale explores 1950s West Coast Jazz at Lauderdale House on November 8

DIVE into the world of 19th-century collector Sir Richard Wallace at a London Winds concert being given at the Wallace Collection, Manchester Square, Marylebone, this Friday evening (November 2). THE fiery and technically brilliant Russian violin concerto by Glazunov is being played by violinist Tim Crawford and the Philharmonia Britannica at St Mark’s, Primrose Hill, on Saturday evening (November 3). Also being performed are superb and powerful music by French prodigy Lili Boulanger and Vaughan Williams’ sixth symphony.

SEATTLE-born alto-saxophonist Allison Neale and her band are exploring the serpentine melodic lines of 1950s West Coast Jazz in next Thursday’s Jazz in the House gig at Lauderdale House, Highgate (November 8). They’ll be focusing on the work of Art Pepper alongside other heroes from that time.
