Second teen charged with murders of Abdikarim Hassan and Sadiq Aadam

Ben Drummond, 18, of Ingestre Road, to appear in court over alleged role in knife killings

A second teenager has been charged with the murders of two young men who were stabbed to death within two hours last week.

Ben Drummond, 18, is due to appear at Highbury Corner Magistrates Court today (Thursday) charged with the murders of 17-year-old Abdikarim Hassan and Sadiq Aadam, 20.

Abdikarim Hassan died in Bartholomew Road
Drummond, of Ingestre Road, Kentish Town, is also accused of grievous bodily harm and attempted grievous bodily harm against two other young men in Somers Town earlier that evening.

Isaiah Popoola, 18, of Grafton Way, Fitzrovia, appeared at the Old Bailey yesterday (Wendesday) charged with the same offences. He will stand trial in July.

Sadiq Aadam was killed in Malden Road

Abdikarim was stabbed near his home on the Peckwater estate at around 8:30pm on Tuesday, March 20. He died at the junction of Bartholomew Road and Islip Street.

Mr Aadam was stabbed in Malden Road at around 10:15pm. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
A 17-year-old was stabbed in Aldenham Street at around 8pm that night. A 24-year-old was allegedly the the victim of an “attempted wounding with intent” at the same time.
