Islington Boys, price £3.50p, plus postage

• FOLLOWING the successful launch of our book Islington Boys, as co-editors, we are looking forward to publishing a companion edition, Islington Boys 2.

Our first book was initially meant to be just about our old school, Barnsbury Boys, but eventually it became a social commentary of our lives and times.

We would like our second book to contain the recollections of all Islington boys and not just those who attended Barnsbury Secondary School. Therefore we are looking for stories from past alumni of all schools in the Islington area.

Your stories / anecdotes could be about your experiences at school, everyday life outside school, where you lived, your family, and what it was like growing up in the 1940s, 1950s, and 1960s.

What odd jobs you did to earn money, the music you liked, and the fashions that you followed? In short, tell us about yourselves.

All contributors’ names will be recognised in the text. Please identify yourselves by school attendance years and where you lived in Islington.

A dedicated email address is set up to receive your stories, ideally a maximum of one A4 page on any one subject, and can be sent to:

Every submission received will be acknowledged and, please note, that content will be edited if necessary. This is a not-for-profit venture. Thanking you in anticipation.
