Tell us who you are

30 August, 2019

• I TOTALLY agree with Mark Bloustien (Name please, August 22) regarding the number of letters published in the New Journal with “Name and address supplied” at the end.

It is quite obvious that most of these that request their name and address be withheld have some sort of axe to grind, be it political or personal.

As, for example, disillusioned or sacked council employees, political party members, neighbours’ disputes etc. In your August 22 edition there were no less than four plus.

Why are people reluctant to put their names to controversial statements? We need to know who they are so we can judge the legitimacy of their cause or gripe. And whether they are biased or not in their statements or views.
