Thank you for support in the wake of the Chalcots evacuation

The Chalcots estate
• I WANT to say a huge thank you to Camden’s voluntary and community sector (VCS) for the support they have given and continue to give to Camden’s residents during the evacuation of the Chalcots estate.
The immediate response and general can-do attitude of the sector is a real credit to Camden and highlights the fundamental importance of having a thriving local voluntary sector in the borough.
It has been a difficult couple of weeks and there is a lot to learn. But the extraordinary effort and willingness of everyone – residents, local and voluntary sector, councillors and council officers alike – to pull together and put residents first make me very proud to be part of our community.
We have been inundated with offers of support and we are very grateful for everyone who has been involved.
A number of Camden’s local voluntary and community organisations have been very active in different ways including volunteering alongside council staff, providing advice sessions, emotional support and activities for children.
We are keeping track of VCS activities and support at www.camden.gov.uk/chalcotsvcssupport.
We recognise the enormous value of the work of the VCS and want to capture as comprehensive a picture as possible. So if you are doing anything we may not be aware of, please do let us know by emailing: firstname.lastname@example.org.
For the latest information and advice please visit: news.camden.gov.uk or follow the council’s twitter feed @camdentalking which is being kept up to date with progress and answers to frequently asked questions. Once again, we are extremely grateful for all the support we have received.
