WELTERWEIGHT Kian “The Tec” Thomas made it seven straight wins in the paid ranks on Saturday when he stopped Yorkshire’s Ryan Hardy at the York Hall in Bethnal Green.
The 25-year-old Kentish Town fighter said it was his uppercuts that “did all the real damage” after dropping his opponent in the sixth and final round, before finishing the fight off seconds later.
“My jabs were bothering him throughout the fight, but it was my uppercuts that did the real damage,” said Kian, who trains out of St Pancras Boxing Club in Kentish Town.
“Hardy kept showboating and doing the Ali shuffle, and I kept hitting him. I was laughing, he made it a fun fight.
“I dropped him in the sixth round after catching him with a counter right hand, but to his credit he got back up. I then finished the job off with a flurry of punches.”
Kian also praised the electric atmosphere within the famous east London venue.
“I want to thank all the supporters who came out to watch my fight,” he said. “The second I stepped out at the York Hall there was an almighty roar, it was great.”
