Those who trivialise and enable anti-Semitism must be condemned
13 September, 2018
• MY heartfelt thanks to former councillor Phil Rosenberg for yet again speaking out against supposed anti-racist racists in Camden Momentum, (Momentum should side with the Jews over the racists, August 30). I know that many other Jews and non Jews applaud him.
When I voted Labour in 2017 I did not realise that I would be voting for a party that would be endorsed by David Duke and Nick Griffin. I did not realise I was voting for a party that while supporting free speech would silence anyone who disagrees with the Corbyn fantasy. If I could retract my vote I would.
I hope Camden’s Labour MPs will take this opportunity to publicly condemn those in Camden politics who trivialise and enable anti-Semitism. I am reminded of the words of German theologian Dietrich Bonhoeffer: “Silence in the face of evil is itself evil: God will not hold us guiltless. Not to speak is to speak. Not to act is to act.”
