Time for victims of technology to fight back?
01 August, 2019
• I HAVE total empathy for the anonymous victim of technology who wrote the letter (Cashless parking has caused great distress, July 25).
I gave up driving nine years ago as I was sick of traffic jams but if I’d still been at the wheel then cashless parking would have been the very last straw.
Little did I know that maintaining a road vehicle was a doddle compared with owning or renting a volatile smartphone.
Smartphones serve as magnets for thieves and they can dominate our daily routines in our perpetual hunt for charging points and signals.
I applaud your correspondent for refusing to conform to a technological world, because until new technology is reliable and intuitive it remains a gimmick.
